EXPLORAR EL CEMENTERIO

About

Montecito Memorial Park and Mortuary date back to 1925, when the visionary Hinze family founded the funeral home and cemetery. Though the word Montecito means “little mountain," which was a perfect depiction of the property when it originally opened, Montecito Memorial Park is today an outstanding landmark occupying more than 100 acres in both Colton, California, and Loma Linda, California.

Together, the Montecito Memorial Park and Mortuary locations allow you to take care of all your funeral and cemetery arrangements. Both the funeral home and cemetery are non-denominational. All cultures and faiths are welcome, and we will work with you to incorporate your own traditions into a funeral or memorial service.

Chapels and celebratory spaces

Chapel at Montecito Memorial Park and MortuaryFamilies have several options for funeral and memorial spaces at Montecito Mortuary. The Cypress Chapel accommodates groups of 100 people or more in pews. For larger services, the state-of-the-art Valley View Chapel comfortably seats groups of 300 or more in pews.

The Cypress Chapel has a hospitality room, which holds a group of 60-70 people for catered events. There is an additional room available for groups of up to 50 as well. All chapel and hospitality rooms are simply decorated because we want you to have the freedom to personalize the space with photos, mementos and memorabilia of the person being celebrated. These touches, no matter how big or small, make a service as unique as the individual.

Committal services at Valley View Mausoleum

Mausoleum at Montecito Memorial ParkFor those who choose the Valley View Mausoleum in Montecito Memorial Park as a final resting spot, the courtyard outside the mausoleum is available for committal services. We use a canopy and chairs to accommodate your group at the mausoleum.

History

Built in an orange grove, Montecito Memorial Park has been a final resting place for many residents in the Inland Empire since 1925. Resthaven Mausoleum was built in 1930 and has a beautiful stained-glass interior. This historical structure gave families an alternative to traditional ground burial.

Cypress Chapel

In the mid 1950s, Montecito Mortuary opened Cypress Chapel. The Spanish-style funeral home remains a landmark in the area to this day.

Funeral home, mausoleum and other additions

Over the years, we've added the beautiful Whispering Pines Cremation Garden, Valley View Mausoleum and numerous sweeping burial lawns. Montecito’s Valley View Chapel was built in 2006. This 13,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility has breathtaking views of the valley and allows us to serve families in a contemporary setting.

Although the cemetery and funeral home have both changed over the years, our signature style of quiet dignity and personalized service of more than 90 years still remains.

Montecito Memorial Park cemetery

Estate area at Montecito Memorial ParkCalifornia's Montecito Memorial Park offers a serene setting with an abundance of trees, beautiful landscaping and a spectacular view of the valley. This is the only cemetery in the country that spans 2 cities: Loma Linda and Colton.

Montecito Memorial Park is a comfortable, beautiful place to memorialize a life. The cemetery is more than 100 acres, with many still undeveloped. It comprises a range of gardens and burial options, including mausoleum entombment, traditional in-ground burial, cremation gardens, private estates and private mausoleums. The cemetery also offers dual-depth sites and lawn-crypt options.

Our gardens and mausoleums

One of the more serene locations at Montecito Memorial Park is Whispering Pines Cremation Garden. Tucked in the back of the cemetery, the garden has several beautiful waterfalls. Cremation niches, boulders, a scattering ossuary and other cremation memorial options are available in this wonderful garden.

Valley View Mausoleum is a beautiful outdoor mausoleum oasis with a spectacular water fountain in the middle. Another mausoleum in the park dates back to the 1930s.

Holiday decorations

At Montecito Memorial Park, we understand that holidays are a special time to remember and celebrate your loved ones. In order to accommodate our families during holidays, we allow holiday-appropriate decorations on grave and memorial sites in addition to the normally allowed floral decor.

Currently, this program is in place for Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Halloween/All Souls' Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Year's. During the appropriate months, you may find details about this program, including allowable dates, in our events section below. Please feel free to contact us at any time for additional information, or visit our office for a copy of our flower policy.

Honoring military veterans

Veterans section at Montecito Memorial ParkMontecito Memorial Park is the resting spot of many of our nation’s veterans. The Garden of Valor is reserved for veterans and has a veterans monument. The team at Montecito Mortuary is well-versed in military funerals with honors and has worked with all branches of the military for funeral services that uphold the traditions of each branch. We participate in the Homeless Veterans Burial Program, teaming up with local and national veterans organizations to ensure that all members of the military receive a dignified memorial, regardless of their financial status.

Because we care

Our property spans 2 cities and we are happy to be involved in both Loma Linda and Colton. We host a yearly Mother’s Day celebration. For Veterans Day, we invite local veterans groups and select a veteran to be honored with a plaque. We also host a yearly appreciation luncheon for firefighters, police and paramedics. Every Halloween we throw a Mansion Masquerade for the Boys & Girls Club, and we hold a candlelight service around the holidays. We are members of Redlands Rotary.
