Beautiful Mission funeral home

Over the years, renovations have completely modernized our building's interior, while preserving the original character of the structure. The original wide, solid-wood moldings and wood windows continue to grace the facility with a traditional elegance. Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home features an elegant chapel that seats up to 100 guests, with elevated and curved ceilings and original plaster walls that convey an atmosphere of character. The facility is also equipped with a projector and DVD system for additional memorialization options.

Our fireside reception area is a beautiful option for families to receive guests following services and hold catered events. In addition, our funeral home offers convenient onsite parking and dedicated curb parking in front of the building.

Convenient location

Located on the same corner in Mission for more than 85 years, locals often say the funeral home is "right across from the old swimming hole." More recent residents know this spot as the Heritage building at the corner of Third and Horne.

History

The Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home history dates back a century and was opened in the early 1900s by Johnny Jones as the first funeral home in Mission, British Columbia. In 1930, it was sold to John Gilles who built a new funeral home. To this day, our funeral home is still known as the Heritage building at the corner of Third and Horne.

A new name

In 1952, Leslie W. Davies acquired the facility, renaming it Mission Funeral Home. In 1983, Neil Allert, who owned Woodlawn Funeral Home in Abbotsford, British Columbia, bought Mission Funeral Home and renamed it Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home.

Continued service

Even though ownership and names have changed over the years, our commitment to service and values has remained the same. Now a proud member of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers, Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home is honoured and privileged to continue to serve Mission area families as we have for the past 90 years.
