Tommy married Elena Martinez (Mesa). They married on Sept. 21, 1979, and after 64 years of marriage they were inseparable. They had 5 children. He worked and retired from the Yuma County Public Works as a Heavy Equipment Operator after 34 years. Tommy truly lived his life to the fullest. He lived his retirement days enjoying time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed the Casino, music, dancing, lottery scratchers and he enjoyed being in his recliner watching TV. He was a hardcore Diamondbacks baseball fan; he never missed a game. He loved sharing his lifetime stories and jokes.
He is survived by his wife Elena Martinez; children, Anna (Ricky) Cazares, Thomas F. (Paco) Martinez, Linda (Albert) Gill, Sally (Claudio) Hernandez and Ray (Alma) Martinez; as well as 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; Embracement family: Robert Cazares and Maryann Arviso; sisters, Irene Sierra, Fina Garcia, Rose Mendez and Amada Cadierl; and brother, Joe Martinez, along with many more family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Jessie Martinez, 4 brothers, 3 sisters and grandson, Francisco Martinez.
Thank you, dad, for loving and taking care of our mom 24/7 with all of her health needs. You are our hero, bravest dad ever!! You will never be forgotten. We, your children, will always treasure your memories and the love you gave us in our hearts.
