Rigo was a veteran of the US Army and was with the 25th Infantry stationed at Schofield Barracks in Honolulu Hawaii.
He is also a Pascua Yaqui Tribe Member.
Rigo grew up most of his life in Yuma Arizona, and had many friends.
Rigo is survived by his daughters Crystal (Brandon) Wilson, Lena Griffiths, sons Rigo Mendoza Jr, Adam Mendoza, Leo Mendoza,& Elijah Mendoza.
He also leaves behind 17 grandchildren.
His Father Bill Mendoza Sr, brother Bill (Patty) Mendoza Jr, sister Geri (Jimmy) Evaro, sister Peggy (Tom) Delgado, brother Adam (Lorie) Mendoza, brother Leo (Nancy) Mendoza, brother Augie-Agustin Mendoza, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He’s preceded in death by his wife Anita Barraza-Mendoza, mother Ramona B Barraza, Father in law Leo Barraza, brother Joe Mendoza Sr., and many other family members.

A visitation for Rigo will be held Friday, December 17, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Johnson Mortuary Chapel, 1415 South First Avenue, Yuma, Arizona 85364. A eulogy will occur Friday, December 17, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 1415 South First Avenue, Yuma, Arizona 85364. An inurnment will occur Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 1415 South First Avenue, Yuma, Arizona 85364.
