Richard’s life was spent in service to others. As a young man, he served his country in the United States Navy. After he received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon and a Master’s degree from West Virginia University, his life was spent working with various organizations in Oregon, Washington State and in Arizona, all designed to help others. Before his death he worked with Campesinos Sin Fronteras in Somerton, Arizona and was a consultant for the Contract and Grants Department of the City of San Luis, AZ.
Richard grew up and lived in many places: Waukegan, Illinois; Clarksville, Tennessee; Portland, Oregon; Southern California; West Virginia; Oahu, Hawaii; Washington State and Yuma, Arizona.
Richard had two special and important friends in his 20 some years in Yuma, AZ. Their friendship was a treasure to him, so they need to be recognized and honored: Frank Odon Garcia and his wife and daughter and Michael Trend and his wife. These two men were and still are true friends.
Richard is survived by family whose love gave him joy: his daughter Lee Sarah Kyle, his son Rex Thomas Kuczek, his grandson William Anthony Davison, his mother, Helen Faye Branson Kuczek, now 102 years old, his sister Patricia Welter and brother-in-law William Welter. He is also survived by cousins in Tennessee and New York and friends from all over the United States.
The following loved ones preceded Richard in death: his former wife Malinda Ann Kuczek, his daughter Becky Lynn Dalton, his father Edward Clarence Kuczek and his sister Diane Kuczek
Richard will lie in rest in the family site at The Sedona Community Cemetery, Sedona, Arizona
He will always be loved and very much missed.
A memorial gathering of Richard’s family and friends is planned for the future with the date and place yet to be decided.
