Mike Brennan, 65, of Yuma, AZ, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 16, 2023 next to his loving wife. He was born on October 2, 1957, in Yuma, AZ, to Wynona White and Kenneth Glover, and later adopted by Ronald Brennan.
Mike was a true family man who always wanted to be surrounded by his loved ones; his philosophy was always “the more the merrier”. He had a gift when it came to talking to people and easily made friends out of any stranger he met. He had a way of making you feel comfortable and like you’d known him forever. One of the ways he accomplished this was through laughter and jokes. His loved ones knew that he always had a dad joke ready and waiting to make them laugh. He loved to have fun, laugh, and be silly, and would soak you with a water hose if given the chance.
Mike graduated from Cholla High School and later went on to have a successful career as a Lieutenant at the Yuma County Humane Society. After leaving there, he became a small business owner of Buddy’s, a honey-do service, and ended his working career at Walmart and helping his wife with her dog training business, K.B. Dog Training.
In his spare time, Mike enjoyed many things. He was an artist who found inspiration everywhere, but was particularly fond of painting and utilizing the desert heat to affect his creations. Outside of that, he most often could be found fishing with his wife, spending time with his dogs, and hand raising his wide variety of chickens. He took great pride in his fluffy butt hut clan of chickens.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Kathy; daughter, Sarah Cyr and her husband and three children; brother, Chris Brennan; and sister, Naomi Fowler. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In his words: I'll call you later. "Don't call me later, call me Dad."
A celebration of life memorial service will be held Friday, June 23, 2023 at 1 PM at Johnson Mortuary & Desert Lawn Memorial in Yuma, AZ.
