Jerry Louis Elzey

Jerry Louis Elzey, 85, went to his heavenly home on June 4, 2022. He was born in Uniondale, IN to Ervin and Clella Elzey. He married Miriam Lou Welsh on June 15, 1956, and they had 3 children, Mike, Jeff and Alane. In 1980 he moved his family to Yuma, where they did mission work on the Cocopah Indian Reservation. He was also self-employed doing maintenance work for several winter visitor courts. Miriam passed away in 1992 and Jerry met and married Eva Gillaspie in 1998. In 1999 Jerry became a Pastoral minister for First Christian Church and was still employed there at the time of his death. His love and passion was teaching God 's word, and leading people to Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife Miriam, parents, sister Joyce, brother-in-law Eldon, and a grandson Jesse. He is survived by his wife Eva, siblings Richard (Bonnie), Karen (John), his children, Mike (Tonya) of Powell, WY, Jeff (Sherri) of Yuma, Alane (Jason) of Gilbert, AZ, and stepdaughter Julie (Gary) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 6 grandchildren, Zeke (Anna), Tabitha (Ben), Tara, Tamara (Brad), Andrew and Ethan; 4 step grandchildren, Amanda (Jon), Greg, Jesse, Alissa, and 8 great grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, June 11th 2022 at 4:00 pm at First Christian Church,

3261 S. Ave 6E, Yuma.
