Hortencia Hernandez, 85, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015. She was born in Doole, Texas on April 29, 1929 to Antonio Rodriguez and Hortencia Montalvo. Hortencia was married to Jesus B. Hernandez in May of 1943. She spent her life as a loving homemaker, enjoying shopping and sparkly jewelry.
Hortencia was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her children, Elva Gonzales, Velia Kowalski, Olivia Lechman, Ana Tucker and Terecita Simmons; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; siblings, Minnie Villereal and Annie Perez of San Jose, California. Hortencia is also survived by many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, May 1, 2015, at Johnson Mortuary Chapel, 1415 S. 1st Avenue in Yuma, Arizona. Father Paul Gambling will officiate. Interment will follow in the Garden of St. Joseph in Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Yuma, Arizona.
