Florene Virginia Ealum, age 89, died peacefully on July 20, 2016 in her home. Florene was born May 31, 1927 in Wayne Oklahoma the daughter of Joe and Celia Henagar. November of 1937 she moved with her family to Scottsdale Arizona and later graduated high school in Maricopa County. Florene married the love of her life on February 16, 1945 and they began a family in 1957. Florene was baptized alongside her husband at Trinity Southern Baptist Church on May of 1962 and later they both assisted in building Immanuel Southern Baptist Church in 1964.
Florene thoroughly enjoyed gardening and was known for her big beautiful tomatoes. She loved to fish, camp, and was active in work towards humanitarian causes and animal rescue. Florene was a long time member of the Garden Club and supported Friends of the Felines in Yuma.
Florene is survived by her son Dick and daughter Teena (Sharayah) of Yuma, along with her niece Arlene, and two nephews Wade and Donnie all of Phoenix. Visitation will be at Johnson Mortuary Friday July 29, 2016 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Florene will be laid to rest beside her husband in the family plot located at Greenwood Cemetery in Phoenix Arizona. Grave side services will be officiated Saturday July 30, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. Arrangements under the direction of Johnson Mortuary & Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Yuma, AZ.
