Mary Elaine Smith

Mary Elaine Smith, age 76, of Yucaipa, California passed away on June 7, 2021. Mary was born December 1, 1944, in Bakersfield, California, daughter of the late Albert and Martha Jensen. Mary grew up in the San Fernando Valley, and graduated from Reseda High School in 1962. In 1963, Mary married Michael E. Stubbs and together they had four children. In 1973, they moved to Yucaipa, California. The Stubbs family attended Yucaipa Christian Church for many years, volunteering much of their time with the church, helping with both the finance department and sound production for the church. Mary spent her free time carting her four children around to various activities while raising Arabian horses and Golden Retriever dogs. Mary and Michael divorced in 1985. In 1989, Mary married Charles “Chuck” Smith, of Yucaipa, California. Mary worked alongside Chuck with the company he started, CST Organic Recycling, Inc. Chuck passed away suddenly on June 5, 2009. Mary spent the last years of her life volunteering at Childhelp, Inc. in Beaumont, California. She was an incredibly compassionate, selfless, and giving individual. She gave of her time, energy and heart into everything in which she was involved. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and taking walks with her beloved Pug, Rosie. She enjoyed gardening and all things chocolate! She is survived by her loving children: Sean (Heidi) Stubbs, Lisa Bullard, Brett (Carmen) Stubbs, and Carrie (Jonny) Roberg; her grandchildren: Shea Westmoreland, Jacob Raines, Sadie Roberg, Talon Roberg and Jackson Stubbs; her previous husband and father of her four children: Michael (Patricia) Stubbs. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother: Butch Jensen. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 27th, at 2:00pm at Weaver-Hughes Mortuary, 33629 Yucaipa Blvd., Yucaipa.
