William August Swanson

He was born on May 25th, 1947 in Lafayette, IN to the late Edwin and Elizabeth Swanson. He attended St. James elementary school, graduated from Klondike High School, and received his bachelor's degree from Purdue University. Bill started working for State Farm Insurance after collage and worked their until his retirement. He met his wife Susan while working at State Farm and they married in June of 1980. In 1989 he and the family moved to Oklahoma and called that home for 27 years. Bill served the church for several years as president of the congregation, elder, and usher.

Bill always had a funny sense of humor and love for life. He loved his family and friends dearly. He also loved playing golf and watching his Purdue Boilermakers. Bill was a great example and witness in faith. Through all trials Bill's love and faith in the Lord never wavered.

Bill is survived by his wife Susan Swanson; two children: Tiffiny (Allan) Rubio and Laura (Jeff) Biever; three grandchildren: Cora Biever, Mason Biever, and Bexley Rubio; his sisters: Mary Lou Thompson and Beth (Jay) Purkhiser; and sister in law Rosalee Swanson.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Bill may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Litchfield Park, AZ or the American Cancer Society.
