She was born in Rose Park-Salt Lake City, UT, on August 21, 1951 to Carol B. (Spratling) Henson and John N. Henson. Wendy grew up and resided in Salt Lake City, UT. Wendy married her 5th grade crush and high school sweetheart, Donald Chad Nelson, on August 7, 1971. They had three daughters, Niki, Erin, and Brynn, in Salt Lake City and moved to Great Falls, Montana in 1980.
Wendy graduated from Granite High School in 1969, went on to medical assistant school and worked in a podiatry practice until she and Chad started their family in 1974. While living in Montana, Wendy and Chad were sealed to their family for time and all eternity in the Cardston, Alberta Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1982. Moving to Aurora, Colorado in 1985 (also resided in Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch, and Lonetree, CO). Wendy enjoyed her church service in the Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary organizations. Working for many years for the Cherry Creek School District as the most stylish and kindest “Lunch Lady”, then transitioned as an assistant into the financial services industry, until it came time to enjoy her retirement.
After Chad’s retirement, Wendy and Chad moved to Waddell, Arizona in 2017, where they continue to reside today.
Wendy is preceded in death by her father, John, mother, Carol, and brother, Johnny. Wendy is survived by her husband, Chad Nelson, and their 3 daughters, Niki Luck (Aaron), Erin McKay (Trent), Brynn Miller (Rob); grandchildren Jackson Luck, Landrie Luck, Delaney Luck, Maison Luck, Charley McKay, Cooper McKay, Brenner Miller, Andrew Miller, and Dalin Miller.
Wendy also adored her sweet doggies, Peaches and Boomer.
