Janet Mary Buttmann was born on February 15, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan. She was the beloved daughter of Oscar and Rosemary (Engelhard) Buttmann. She was predeceased by her parents and by her sister, Kathleen Buttmann Danks.
Janet was a bright and witty person, filled with interesting and wise anecdotes and observations. A gifted artist, Janet enjoyed photography. She also loved to travel. She was a wonderful friend, loved and respected.
Janet received her Bachelor's Degree in Social Anthropology from the University of California at San Diego. She went on to work for the City of San Diego for more than 30 years, retiring in 2007 as an Assistant Civil Engineer.
In the late 1970s, Janet began a diligent study of the Bible. As a spiritual person, she enjoyed talking about her faith. She was a precious member of her local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She will be greatly missed.
