Barbara is survived by her four daughters, Beth, Deanna, Christy and Amber; her grandchildren, Zachary, Michael, Chatelaine, Kailee, Alyssa and Chayla; her great-granddaughter, Marisol; her sisters, Norma and Maryanne; nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her son, Jim and granddaughter, Faith.
Barb grew up in Pennsylvania and loved horseback riding, hay rides, family summers in Cooks Forest, and also spending time at her Uncle Carl and Aunt Franny’s home. She trained as a nurse at Jameson School of Nursing in New Castle from 1962 to 1965, until she married James Hartley in February 1965. In the years that followed, she dedicated her time to raising her five children. During this time, the family moved from Pennsylvania to Arizona, settling in Glendale. Barb loved sewing and was an incredible seamstress - her projects included bridal gowns, clothes for her children (including “Little House on the Prairie” dresses for her daughters) to baby doll & Barbie clothes. Barb also loved ‘antiquing’ trips with her sisters & daughters, where she found a number of items to decorate her home. She worked in the medical administration field for St. Joseph’s Hospital of Phoenix from 1986 until her retirement in 2012. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends & family and as a volunteer Bible teacher.
Barb loved her family & friends deeply, was dearly loved in return and will be sorely missed. May Jehovah remember her in the resurrection spoken of at Revelation 21:3,4
