Roger Esquer -dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend- passed away on December 3, 2022 at the age of 67 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. Throughout his battle this past year, he never gave up. His strength of heart and mind throughout his battle and life will forever leave us all an example of a life well lived.
Roger was born on October 27, 1955 to Roger and Connie Esquer in Los Angeles, California. He grew up with his two brothers, Tony and Rod, and two sisters, Clara and Debbie.
Roger worked for 45 years in the corrugated industry. He was a very hard worker, and through his work ethic moved up from an entry level position, to finish his career as General Manager. However his greatest and most proud accomplishment was his family. He married the love of his life, Cecilia, on August 23, 1980. They had three children: Natalie, Paul, and Jennifer. Their family grew to include Patrick, Jenna, and Domenic followed later by his 6 grandchildren: Lyla, Samantha, Mason, Nolan, Corey, and Dante. Being a grandfather was one of his greatest joys. Roger enjoyed traveling with his wife, vacationing with his family at the lake, dinners with family and friends, watching his grandchildren do their activities, attending concerts and sporting events, and golfing with friends. Spending quality time with those he loved most was his passion.
Roger is survived by his wife, Cecilia; their children Natalie and Patrick, Paul and Jenna, Jennifer and Domenic; and his six grandchildren Lyla, Samantha, Mason, Nolan, Corey, and Dante.
In his memory and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the V Foundation at v.org to support cancer research.
Please join his family in celebrating his life at his funeral services on Friday, December 16, 2022. Mass will be at 10:00am at St. Matthew’s with a reception to follow at the church hall at 11:00am.
Roger often used his favorite music and sporting events as an opportunity to gather and celebrate with his family and friends. With that in mind, the family asks that you wear your favorite Beatles, Dodgers, Lakers, or LA Rams items to celebrate Roger one more time.
