Joseph Leslie McBride III, 43, a resident of the Yorba Linda community, went to be with our Lord Jesus, Sunday afternoon, January 8th, 2023, at Placentia-Linda Hospital in Placentia, California. He passed away suddenly from Colon Cancer.
Joseph Leslie McBride III was born May 19th, 1979, in Anaheim, California, the son of Joseph Leslie McBride Jr. and Nancy Ann (Bimmler) McBride. He was raised in Yorba Linda and graduated from Esperanza High School Class of 1997. After graduation, he received his degree in Communications from California State University, Fullerton.
Joseph (Joe) was very active in the social scene in college. He pledged Sigma Pi Fraternity, where he made lifelong friends with men he considered to be his brothers. He was a very loyal and active member of the Fraternity and holds the record for most "caps" games played. In college, he met and fell in love with his wife, Jennifer Falatico, and they raised a wonderful son, Joseph Leslie McBride IV. His son Joseph IV (Seppi) was the light of his life, and he was so proud to be his dad. He considered fatherhood one of his greatest accomplishments and Seppi to be the greatest gift from The Lord.
Pizza, "Hot Pie" was his favorite food. He had a lifelong career at Lamppost Pizza. He started out pounding dough, and eventually became the Owner and Operator of Lamppost Pizza in East Yorba Linda. It was always his dream. Joe was a natural in the store and had tremendous pride for every pizza that was made. He only would purchase the finest ingredients because he believed in serving a superior product. If you knew Joe, you have tasted his delicious pizza. He liked his well done, thin crust and with extra sauce.
Joe had a vivacious personality. Anywhere Joe went his smile would light up the room and you would automatically feel his love and zeal for life. He loved his family and friends unconditionally and had the biggest heart of forgiveness. He was a selfless man and would always put the needs of others before his own. Joe had a gift to always see the best in everyone and loved to help others achieve greatness or excel in their endeavors. He had an immense amount of wisdom and knowledge on any subject and could give exceptional advice from his heart. Joe never let a moment pass without making sure you knew how much he loved and appreciated you. He lived his life knowing and often quoting that “tomorrow is never promised.” Growing up, Joe was raised to look after his little sister, Megan. They had a very special bond and always tried to take care of each other. It was a bond that everyone knew could never be broken. He was also referred to as BJ (Baby Joey) by his mother and father.
Joe was a believer in Jesus Christ and loved the Lord. He enjoyed spending quality time with his son, family, and friends. He lived for sports and enjoyed watching any game he could. He was a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan and was very proud of it! He would watch them play simultaneously with his dad, son, and friends, while texting back and forth the events of the games. He Loved "His Bills." Even when they were having a bad season, he would watch their game religiously every week. It's heartbreaking that the one thing he would have wanted to see in his lifetime is the Bills play and win the Superbowl, and they are on track to do so this year.
Joe was a huge country music fan. Whenever you hear George Strait, you will forever think of him. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, watching ghost hunting and crime shows, and mentoring his son and others. Joe was a family man. He loved being home relaxing and spending time with his son, sister and nephew. Joe was loved by so many and will be missed immensely until we meet him again in heaven.
He is predeceased by his father, Joseph Leslie McBride Jr., who is gone but never forgotten. He is survived by his mother, Nancy McBride, his son, Joseph Leslie McBride IV; his sister, Megan McBride Lange, his nephew, Reagan James Watkins, former spouse, Jennifer Falatico Montanez and a host of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A viewing will be held at McAulay & Wallace Mortuary in Yorba Linda on Wednesday, January 18th, 2023 from 2pm to 4pm, followed by a service. Reception will be following directly after at Lamppost Pizza East Yorba Linda.
