She is survived by her children, Cindy Sparks, Karen Stewart, Larry Sparks and Jim Sparks, along with her brother Robert Brunskill, six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Ann was born in Fullerton on June 24, 1935 to Don and Elizabeth Brunskill. She attended Fullerton High School before heading to UCLA where she studied to be a teacher. After college, she married Thomas Sparks and they moved to La Habra to raise their four children. Eventually, she started her long career as an elementary school teacher and after more than four decades in the classroom, she retired at age 70 from Pacific Drive Elementary School in Fullerton.
Ann was a longtime member of P.E.O., a women's organization whose primary focus is providing educational opportunities for female students. She served in various leadership positions throughout her tenure. In addition, Ann was passionate about books and reading; thus, she volunteered for many years at Friends of the Library in La Habra.
After living in La Habra for many years, she moved back to Fullerton, residing at Morningside. Ann enjoyed traveling, going to Angels games with her daughters, playing bridge with friends and spending time with her family. She possessed a great mind, a dry sense of humor and a generous heart.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
