Rita E. Carey

She lived most of her life in Yonkers and her last years in Eastchester. She was born 12/11/1921. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She had a wonderful group of nieces and nephews who kept in close contact and always included her in their gatherings. She was a long time member of St. Joseph’s Parish and a member of the St. Joseph’s senior club. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years. Rita is survived by her sons; Frank (Martha), John (Terry) and Gerard; eight grandchildren and eight great-children. She was predeceased by her daughter Mary Ellen, her husband Francis Carey and her four sisters and two brothers. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Sunday 2-6pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph’s Church on Monday February 15th at 10am. Final disposition will be private. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
