Peter V. Matthews Jr.

Peter V. Matthews, Jr., Officer and Gentleman. Born December 20, 1937 to Peter Sr. and Muriel Matthews. Passed Sunday, July 12, 2015. Loving husband of Ann, Father of Kimberly, Father-in-Law Sean O’Connor and grandfather of Jonathan, Justin, Rebecca and Joseph. Brother of Maryanne, Jean and Linda. Brother-in-Law of John, Stephen, Peter and (Late) Michael (passed February 27, 2015). He served in the Navy four years. Served loyaly for the New York City Police Department for twenty-seven years. Peter loved his family, life, outdoors, church, police department and the Veterans. The family would like to thank very much the medical team at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City for their devoted care. Donations may be made to St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Yonkers, N.Y or the New York City Police Department, 7th precinct. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 16th at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery.
