Paul Francis Heffernan age 56, of Yonkers, NY passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015. Paul was born on September 30, 1959 in Yonkers, NY. A graduate of Gorton High School, he worked for many years as a heating and cooling engineer with several companies in and around Westchester. Paul loved travel and enjoyed exploring exotic places around the globe such as, Jamaica, Bali, Thailand and Mexico. He was a talented and self-taught musician who played guitar and keyboards. Paul had a wealth of knowledge concerning rock ‘n roll trivia. He loved the great outdoors… hiking, camping, rafting, etc., and once challenged himself on a solo trip hiking the Adirondack Trail for 6 weeks surviving bears and recalcitrant weather. Paul also had an affinity for exotic birds which he had as pets over the years.
As our brother, Rob, reflected ”Paul tried to carry his candle in the wind as best he could. May we all tend our fires well and allow their light and warmth to comfort others.”
Those who knew Paul will miss his quick wit, outrageous pranks and his uncanny talent for telling imaginative stories …and one might say ”you can’t make this up” way of life.
Loving son to the late Bob Heffernan and Genevieve McGinnis Heffernan, Paul is survived by his brother, Rob Heffernan and sister-in-law, Donna of Fairlawn, NJ; sister, Moira Heffernan Salvatore of Somerset, NJ; sister, Julie Heffernan Manco and brother-in-law Roger of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY; nieces, Genevieve Manco of Denver, CO, Colette Manco of Wilmington, DE and grandniece, Aaralyn Pedicone of Wilmington, DE; uncle, Bill McGinnis and wife Agnes of Mentor, Ohio; a sister, Marie de Lourde Heffernan, predeceased him in 2010.
