Patricia M. Thompson

She was born on May 13, 1931 to Richard and Kathleen Walshe Barclay in Manhattan. She was raised and educated in Yonkers graduating from Sacred Heart High School. Mrs. Thompson was an executive secretary for IBM at various locations in Westchester County for fifteen years until her retirement in 1993. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and was a member of the Fr. Solanus Casey Group and the Christian Mothers at Sacred Heart. She was also a girl scout leader at Sacred Heart. Mrs. Thompson enjoyed Irish music, doing crossword puzzles, reading, movies and working with her IPad. Her family said “She was very involved with all of her grandchildren’s activities”. On August 30, 1952, she married her loving husband James H. Thompson, Jr. in Sacred Heart Church. Mr. Thompson died on March 12, 1978. Survivors include her children, Eileen P. Thompson of Yonkers, Karen Thompson-Speight and her husband John P. of Yonkers, Paul J. Thompson of Rock Tavern, N.Y. and Linda A. Brunner and her husband Edward of Land O’ Lakes, FL and a sister, Nuala Kressman of Katonah. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, James, Terra, Gregory, Nicholas, Mark and Matthew. She was predeceased by a brother, Desmond Barclay. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Wednesday 2-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Thursday February 6th at 11am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
