Nathan Adams Sr. was someone who had a long fruitful life, he was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and a Marine, who served during the time of the Korean War.
He was born the second youngest of 7 bothers and a sister. He is survived by his Daughters, Cassandra, Roxsan, Tammy, Tiffany, Sondra, Linda, and Yvette, as well as his two sons, Nathan, and Matthew.
Anyone who knew Curly, (so nick named because his hair was always, you guessed it, curly), also knew of his love of working with his hands. He could always be found in his workshop, beer in hand, crafting a book case, entertainment unit, tables, shelves, you name it. If it could be made from wood, he could fashion it. His easy smile and friendly hello was known throughout the block, if you ever had wanted to run across him, all you had to do was to stand outside of the house and wait. Sooner or later he would appear. Spending time working on the garden in the back yard, hedging the bushes, or adding touch up paint where needed. He always made sure that the cabinets were always stock full of food, and could be counted on to be a gracious host when entertaining. He also loved to have cook-outs, where his hamburgers were famous. Any given Saturday could find the back-yard chock full of teen-agers, playing board games – it was not uncommon to see Monopoly marathon sessions lasting over 2 days.
But, sadly, like all good stories, this has come to an end. He now goes to be reunited with his loving Wife of over 50 years, Betty Adams, and his Brothers and Sister. There is no doubt there will be much celebration in heaven, because Curly has finally shown up.
Visiting will be in the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Monday April 2nd from 10am to 11am. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
