Mary Hanczor (nee Skrobala) of Yonkers died on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at age 95. Born on June 17, 1916 to Nicholas and Catherine (Beck) Skrobala in Yonkers where she was raised and attended local schools and graduated from Commerce High School in 1935. Mrs. Hanczor worked as a secretary in the Civil Service Dept. for the City of Yonkers for over twelve years; retiring in 1972. In 1939 she married Michael Hanczor in St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, he died in 1964. Mary was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and a former member of St. Michael’s Choir. Mrs. Hanczor is survived by her two children Carol (Frank) Sacco of Yonkers and Michael ( Karolyn) Hanczor of Commack, Long Island. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Frank, Donna, Jennifer, Michelle and Nicholas and ten great-grandchildren, Samantha, Dana, Joseph, Frank, Arianna, Molly, Patrick, Ryan, Natalie and Lilly. She was predeceased by two brothers Andrew and Michael Skrobala and survived by her niece Audrey DeCeil of Cairo, N.Y. Visiting will be at the Whalen and Ball Funeral Home on Friday, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held in Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, May 19th at 9:30 a.m. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
