I just came upon this lovely lady's obituary, and felt I needed to say a few words. I share the same name 'Brenda Hudson' although I'm from Ireland my career has been in Harness Racing, and I was lucky enough to visit several US states including Yonkers Raceway  to participate. 
My sincere condolences to Brenda's family and friends, what a lovely person, and I wish I,could have met her., may she Rest In Peace.

My condolences to Brenda's family from a co-worker at the Department of Labor. I had the pleasure of working with Brenda for many years. She was always very sweet and friendly. As part of our retirees lunch group I looked forward to seeing her and hearing about her latest travels. Some nice memories there. I was shocked and very saddened to hear of her  passing. She will be missed.

Brenda was a very good friend and classmate. Growing up in Asheville, N.C. and attending school there, we shared a lot of good times, school activities and fun memories. I'm really going to miss her, my friend, my buddy. Brenda fought the good fight, she finished the race, she kept the faith. Now there is in store for her the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge will award her on that day- and not only to her but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

I am beyond grateful for the moments I was blessed to spend with you. We first met in Miami at a NASA event and instantly bonded. Many thought you were my mother based on our natural connection. Thinking about how we cruised the streets of South Beach and witnessed quite a few people who couldn't hold their liquor makes me chuckle.  I just remembered the man who was passed out on Lincoln Avenue in the middle of the day, man the things we saw. Fun times. Thank you for sharing your life with me.

I was so sorry to hear about Brenda's passing.  She was a beloved friend of all of us here in East End Asheville and the class of '67.  The Williams family is praying for all of you.  If you need anything give us a call.

Brenda, you were a friend throughout my childhood, high school, and college years.  You were also my AKA soror.   Your passing has been like the ending of an era.

Mary, Margaret, and Andre my heart goes out to you.  I pray that God will ease your spirit through this difficult time.

My condolences  and prayers go out  to the family of Brenda.  I will miss her at  our class reunions.  Brenda wa  always the life of the party.  I  will  remember   her from  the Stephens Lee High school band.  We  played  2nd clarinet in the marching and concert  band.  We had the best high  stepping marching band in Asheville , North  Carolina,.  She will truly be missed.

I am deeply saddened by the news of my friends passing. I could never speak of growing up in Asheville, NC and  my idyllic childhood without including my friend, Brenda Joyce Letman. We met in first grade and shared every childhood adventure from elementary school through high school graduation. She was an advid reader and a great communicator. We both loved chocolate and always bonded over a delicious brownie during our long walk home from Hill Street School.  Having saved our bus fare for this special treat, we had lots of time to process each day in junior high. My friend and I laughed a lot and played with childhood abandonment. Her home on Lincoln Avenue was my favorite place to visit to hear all about her summer adventures in New York.  I loved visiting with her at Christmas time and spending time with her grandmother who was very much like my grandmother. Life takes you in many different directions, but I will always remember her adventurous spirit and love of travel. I'm grateful for the early years we were besties and offer a tribute from the entire Russell family and my children who also had the pleasure of meeting my savvy, sophisticated friend.  We will always cherish her memory. My condolences to Mary, Margaret, Andre and the extended Asheville family.  She is now with the ancestors and she will be remembered as an "Ivy Beyond the Wall".  I wish we could have spent more time together, but I know God called you home.  I am thankful for your life, your accomplishments and the time we spent together. Remembering the best of times and choosing to rejoice. RIP
