Barbara J. Morrissey

Barbara J. Morrissey (nee Zito), 86, a lifelong Yonkers resident, died on Wednesday June 15, 2022 at Maplewood of Danbury, in Danbury, Ct. She was born on December 10, 1935 to Charles and Rose Berardo Zito in Yonkers where she was raised and educated, graduating from Roosevelt High School. Mrs. Morrissey was an administrative secretary for the health and welfare fund of Local 60 (Westchester Heavy Construction) for many years and subsequently she worked as an administrative secretary for Teamsters Local #456 and Precision Valve Corporation. She enjoyed baking, gardening and buying collectables. On September 9, 1961, she married her loving husband, William J. Morrissey. Mr. Morrissey survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Rosanne Camerino of Danbury Ct., a son, Paul Morrissey of Yonkers and a sister, Bettejane Lynott of Yonkers. She is also survived three grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Lauren and two great grandchildren, Gianna Marie and Michael. She was predeceased by a son, Frederick Bobb and a sister, Kathryn Dzamba. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Friday 4-8pm. Funeral service and final disposition are private. Donations in her memory may be made to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Humane Society or the Disabled Veterans National Foundation.
