Yarmouth – Lee G. White, 64, of Yarmouth, died Saturday August 31, 2013 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough with his two sons by his side. He was born on January 31, 1949 in Rumford, ME a son of Jeanette (McIntire) and Ernest White. He was educated in Portland schools and graduated from Portland High School, Class of 1968. He was drafted into the US Army and served in Vietnam.
Lee worked for the Yarmouth School Department as a custodian for over 25 years. He was a Red Sox and Patriots fan. He especially enjoyed the company and any time spent with his grandchildren: Andrew, Caden and Addysen. Lee will be remembered as a good man who put the needs of his family first. The virtues of a hardworking man were a part of his character along with a spirit of kindness, compassion and generosity. Simply put, Lee was a loving man.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dianne (Grimes) White of Yarmouth; his two sons: Brian White and his wife Tori and their children Caden and Addysen of Idaho Falls, ID; David White and his son Andrew of Yarmouth; his mother Jeanette White of Brunswick; his brothers: Gene White and his wife Shirley of Windham; Dale White and his wife Nancy of Windham; his sisters: Susan White of Brunswick; Judy Reid of Brunswick; as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers: Jan White and Timmy White.
Visiting hours will be on Wednesday September 4, 2013 from 5 – 7 PM at Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth. A graveside service will be held on Thursday September 5 at 2 PM in Evergreen Cemetery, 672 Stevens Avenue, Portland.
