Yarmouth - Evelyn "Evie" Lucy (Jacklin) Stoddard, 85, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2018, four days shy of her 86th birthday. Evie was born in Yarmouth, ME on March 8, 1932, the daughter of William and Lucy (Ruby) Jacklin.
Evie was a lifelong resident of Yarmouth, attending North Yarmouth Academy, class of 1950. In 1954, Evie married Lawrence Stoddard and raised their family on West Elm Street, where Evie lived until she fell ill in 2015. After graduating from high school, Evie went to work for Burnham and Morrill's baked bean factory in Portland, from there, she went to work at Freeport Shoe for a number of years. Evie found the job she loved at LL Bean, spending 28 years there before she retired.
Evie was very spiritual and had a strong faith in God. She loved reading The Bible, playing cards with her sister and friends and eating ice cream at Martel's in Saco. Besides The Lord, Evie had a very deep love for her children, grandchildren and her friends.
Evie is survived by her son, Craig and his wife Janet of Greenville, ME; her daughter, Mary Curit of Richmond, ME; her grandchildren, Linan and her husband Steve Cicerchia of Warwick, RI, Jacob and his wife Ashley Stoddard of Raymond, ME, Bryan Curit and Rhonda Fitzmaurice of Lisbon, ME; two great grandchildren, Thomas and Noah; her brother, William Jacklin; her half-sister, Marion Howland; her dearest friend, Judy Swanson and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Evie was predeceased by her sister, Marion Frye.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 1-3 P.M. and a Celebration of Evie's life will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 11 A.M. at Lindquist Funeral Home 1 Mayberry Lane Yarmouth, ME. Interment will take place at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Yarmouth, ME.
