Elizabeth Jean MacPherson

She was born in Boston on April 8, 1942, the daughter of James and Muriel (Young) Hennessey.

Betty Graduated from Dorchester High School, Class of 1959, and years later she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business from Westbrook College in Portland. She was employed by S.D. Warren for more than 30 years starting in the Boston office, then moving to the Customer Service office in Westbrook, retiring in 1994.

In October 1990 she married her husband Bob MacPherson. Betty loved music, art, reading and travel. She was an avid gardener, cook and artist. She was a long time member of the First Parish Congregational Church in Yarmouth and loved to take part in the life of the Church and the Community.

She was predeceased by her husband Bob MacPherson on October 15th 2013.

Betty is survived by her sister Barbara Hennessey of Nashville, Tennessee, her brother Tom and wife Priscilla Hennessey of Portland, and her three nephews Evan, Patrick and Deirdre Hennessey. She is also survived by Bob MacPherson’s loving and supportive children and their families.

The family would like to thank the staff at Falmouth by The Sea for their care and support over these past years, and a special thank you to Julie Neill for her tender loving care.

Visiting hours are Wednesday December 28th, 10:30am -12:30pm at the Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth, ME 04096. The funeral service will follow at 1pm at the First Parish Congregational Church, 116 Main St, Yarmouth, ME 04096. Interment will be at a later date.
