Known for her kindness, sense of humor and unwavering love for her family and friends, Bev will be missed by all who knew her. She was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, but later moved with her parents to East Hartford, Connecticut, where she met Ron, her loving husband of 68 years, in high school - they married on April 2, 1955. Bev was dedicated to her family and her friends, supporting each of them through every aspect of life and in whatever way they needed.
When she wasn’t caring for her family by making costumes, attending dance recitals, horse shows or cheering at games, Bev loved to spend time with friends, shop, and do crossword puzzles. For many years, she helped to plan the class reunion get-togethers for the East Hartford High School class of 1951. She looked forward to her monthly visits with her “First Monday“ group at Mohegan Sun or Foxwoods, and especially the group’s yearly pilgrimage to Las Vegas. She was an avid UConn women’s (and men’s) basketball, Boston Red Sox and New York Giants fan and rarely missed a game. In 2019, Bev and Ron moved to Maine to be closer to their children, grandchildren and great-grandson.
Bev was predeceased by her loving parents, Bill and Cecille Pomeroy. She is survived by her dear and devoted husband, Ron, and her eternally grateful children, Mindy and her husband Roger, Beth, Will and his wife Ginny, Mike and his wife Jenn, as well as her always adoring grandchildren, Michelle Beverley, Lexi and Dane, and great-grandson, Alex.
Our family would like to thank all of Bev’s family and friends for their loving, kind and supportive presence in her life. We also want to thank the kind and giving staff at Bay Square at Yarmouth and Hospice of Southern Maine who so generously cared for Bev.
We wanted to let everyone know that we will be having a small, private service for Bev but we hope to have friends and family gather sometime in the spring to celebrate her wonderful and happy 90 years with us. We will reach out to you when the plans are set. Until that blessed time arrives, we ask that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Bev’s name to Hospice of Southern Maine, the American Cancer Society, the American Lung Association, or a charity of your choosing.
