Yakima- Ryan Allen Menard, 23, of Selah passed away on June 1, 2014 at Yakima Regional Hospital, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Ryan was born December 21, 1990 to Annette & Lawrence Menard in Yakima, WA.
Ryan attended Selah School District and graduated from Selah High School in 2010. A talented athlete, Ryan excelled in several sports, soccer being his favorite. He played goal-keeper throughout his high school career, and continued to play on both indoor and outdoor leagues following school. Ryan also loved classic cars, and motorcycles, a passion he acquired and shared with his dad and older brother.
Ryan has a genuine passion for life. He shared this passion with everyone he met, and always had a big smile to share. His laugh was infectious and he could always brighten peoples’ spirits even when you didn’t want him to. A truly kind man, Ryan didn’t meet anyone who wasn’t a friend and would give the shirt of his back to anyone who needed it.
Ryan enjoyed learning new things. A hardworking individual, Ryan exceled at every place he worked including: Kings Row, Viking Video, Irwin Research & Development, American First Title, Haas and most recently Fed Ex. He enjoyed each position he held and brought joy to all his coworkers.
Ryan is survived by his parents, Lawrence and Annette Menard of Selah; sister, Brandi (Chris) Harrington of Yakima, brother, Jake (Stefanie) Menard of Moxee; nieces, Zoe and Olivia Harrington and grandfather, Duane Menard of Yakima. He is also survived by best friends John Johnston, Paul Summerville, and Levi Shinners. In addition to countless other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, John Thornock and grandmother, Shirley Menard.
Viewing will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2014 at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00p.m., on Saturday, June 7, 2014 also at the funeral home.
