During his younger years he and his family traveled from state to state following the various agricultural seasons of farming to places like Florida, Michigan and Texas, finally settling in Grandview, WA in 1956. During his spare time, he taught himself how to work on cars and developed his skills for painting them. His love of painting cars grew into his own business which he had for over 15 years. To this day many of the vintage vehicles he painted are still being shown in car shows. Along with his autobody shop, he was a Gun Smith as well and carved beautiful pictures on the stocks of guns.
In 1967 he met his future wife, Lynni M. Honanie, while cruising the Sunnyside Safeway parking lot. Six months later on August 11, 1967, he married the love of his life and had 53 wonderful years together. They raised two amazing children, son, Noe R. Serrata (deceased) and daughter Raquel E. (Jason) Kesselring and have two wonderful grandchildren, Ashely-Nicolette and Cameron-McKay.
Ram loved the great outdoors and he found God in the beautiful mountains, the wildlife, ocean, lakes, rivers and streams. His love and passion for the great outdoors drew us to the mountains. Upon his retirement, we built our home on Mt Clemens and lived off the grid for 17 years. Ram was an avid hunter of Elk and Deer. Camping along the Columbia River was one of his greatest joys, fishing for Sturgeon or whatever fish was in season. He also loved long distance target shooting. We spent many family gatherings celebrating with family and friends and he would bring us all together with song. He loved Karaoke and so many of the family have wonderful memories of spending hours singing and laughing or just listening to Tejano music.
Ram always had a radiant smile for everyone he met and never hesitated to help someone. He will always be remembered for his beautiful smile.
Ram is proceeded in death by his father, Jesus Serrata and mother, Maria Quintero, son Noe R. Serrata, brother, Roberto Serrata, sisters, Josie Perez and Margarita Degollado.
He is survived by his wife Lynni m. Serrata, daughter Raquel E. (Jason) Kesselring, grandchildren, Ashley-Nicolette and Cameron-McKay. Sisters, Jeannie Acosta and Rachel Magana and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
For People with stomach issues, an MRI or similar test should be routine testing with all doctors to rule out cancer of the pancreas.
