Mary was born January 28, 1916, to Elias and Emma Nelson in Hunters, WA. The family moved to Yakima in 1920. Mary graduated from Yakima High School in 1933 and from Washington State College (W.S.U.) in 1938. While at Washington State College, she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority.
Mary met and later married her college sweetheart Wilbur K. Logan. They lived in Wapato for 67 years. She helped at the family business, Logan's Reservation Feed Mill until their children arrived.
Mary was a member of the Wapato Community Presbyterian church, served on Wapato's Friends of the Library and Board of Trustees, and a member of the Tillicum Literary Club. She enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, knitting and playing bridge. Later in life, Mary and Wilbur traveled to Canada, Mexico, and Europe.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, who also passed away on June 3 in 2006, Wilbur K. Logan, parents Elias and Emma Nelson, brother Harold Nelson, sister and brother-in-law Gertrude and Ed Hinkley, and brother-in-law Irv Rozier.
She is survived by her daughter Jane Walton (Jerry) of Ellensburg and son Terry Logan (Charleen) of Wapato. Mary is also survived by seven grandchildren, Christina, Ivy, Jeremie, Abby, Berna, Shannon, Paul, thirteen great-grand children and one great-great granddaughter, sister-in-law Wanda Rozier and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
