Lynda was born San Francisco to Kenneth and Clara Williams on February 13, 1945. She went to school in Kennewick. She married Ralph Birmingham on August 6, 1966 in Kennewick, WA and eventually settled in the Yakima Valley. She graduated from St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing in 1967.
In her youth, Lynda was the neighborhood babysitter. She also took her job as big sister very seriously, especially when she was 9 years old and a baby brother came along. The highlight of their year was always the family vacation. It was usually car-camping in the station wagon. Lynda would often be relaxing with a book, a hobby she carried throughout her life. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Yakima Valley School for over 30 years. She was heavily involved in Central Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday School for many years, singing in the Family Choir, and chaperoning youth groups to California and one of her favorite places, Camp Lutherhaven.
Lynda enjoyed traveling. She traveled several times with family and friends to the Oregon Coast to enjoy sunsets and long walks on the beach. Lynda also managed to find time to go on a couple cruises, one to Mexico where she was able to swim with a dolphin, and the other to Alaska. Lynda graciously volunteered for a number of community organizations including Cub Scouts, Camp Fire, and Days for Girls.
Lynda is preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Clara Williams.
Lynda is survived by son, Brian Birmingham and wife Alexis, daughter Brenda Collins and husband Kevin, sister Sandee Woehler and husband Dick and brother Kenneth Williams and wife Teressa, grandsons Donovan and Sean Collins and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Memorials may be given to Union Gospel Mission.
The family of Lynda wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Ken and Sue Montgomery, Mary Johnson, Felicity Pittman, Melissa Christianson, The Lunch Bunch, Dr. Ross Bethel, and North Star Lodge.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.keithandkeith.com for the Birmingham family.
