On April 12, 1948, he married Mildred Vogel in Clark, South Dakota. They moved from Redfield, South Dakota to southern California in 1957, then to Yakima, Washington in 1961. Lyle worked for Cascade Natural Gas Company for 29 years. He was a devoted Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Names Society. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, bowling, and playing pinochle. He was also a gifted mechanic and could fix anything.
Lyle is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, his parents, his brother, and two sisters. He is survived by sisters Joyce Jansen and Carol Woodfork; four children, William (Bill) Hansen, Roger Hansen (Dottie), Jim Hansen (Debbie), and Peggy Hansen Cornish (Steve); seven grandchildren, Jeanette Selberg (Dave), Karyn Gonzales (David), Joel Hansen (Janessa), Sam Hansen (Jessica), Molly Hansen (Dan), Kevin Hansen, Aimee Hansen, and 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Langevin El Paraíso Funeral Home on Monday, August 31, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Vigil Service will begin at 5 p.m. at Langevin El Paraíso Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at St. Paul Cathedral at 9 a.m. with committal following at Calvary Cemetery.
