Lupe was born in Donna, TX, on April 10, 1926, and moved to Washington with her family in 1952. Lupe was a hard worker and was employed by Evans Fruit for nearly 40 years. She made beautiful quilts, was an avid gardener and loved to putter in her garden and grow flowers. Lupe loved to cook and took great pleasure in cooking family dinners and Sunday breakfasts. Lupe was known for her delicious tortillas and tamales.
Lupe was married to her husband Jesse for 18 years and had four children: Ruben, Dan, Jesse, and Margie. Lupe survived the passing of her husband, Jesse in 1966 and her son, Jesse in 1979. Lupe continued to live in her Cowiche home where she was independent and active. She was devoted to her family and taught her children kindness, loyalty, and a strong sense of family. Lupe gave away the best parts of herself, and offered her kindness, generosity, loyalty and love to all without judgment and asked for nothing in return. Lupe lived a simple life, rich in faithfulness and service to God. At the time of her death, her devotion to God brings us all peace. We can be sure she is with the Lord our Father in heaven. She enjoyed life to its fullest and she will be greatly missed. Lupe is survived by three of her children, Ruben Garcia, and wife Mary, Dan Garcia, and wife Kathy, and Margie Garcia, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
