FOREVER LOVED BY ERNIE
Julie Mae King (Barnsley) age 75, lost her battle with cancer on February 17th, 2023. She was born in Yakima, WA to Ted and Dolly Barnsley and was a graduate of Davis High School, class of 1965. She attended college in Portland and California, received her BA from University of California, and her MA in counseling from Liberty University. Julie had a successful and fulfilling career as a mental health therapist until May of 2019. She was a member of Bible Study Fellowship and an active member of Wiley Union Church. She enjoyed reading, gardening and was an incredible cook. She took impeccable care of her home and family and was an extremely gracious host. Julie was very creative and worked on many craft projects over the years. She co-owned a small handmade craft shop in East Selah named “Twigs n Things” during the 80s and 90s. After touching many lives in our community, she retired in 2019 and enjoyed a peaceful life with her husband of nearly 40 years, Ernie King.
She is survived by Ernie King, her daughter Ginny Lee and stepchildren Jason King, Paul King, Amanda Bell and many grandchildren. She is also survived by her two brothers: Ron Barnsley, Rudy Barnsley and his wife Fran Barnsley, and nieces and nephews Jennifer Barnsley, John Barnsley, Curt Johnson, Lee Barnsley, Ken Barnsley, Deb Madigan, and Brett Barnsley. She will be greatly missed by her family and close circle of wonderful friends.
