It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jose Mesa Sr., a cherished son, brother, father, husband, and grandfather, who left us on October 12, 2024, at the age of 68. Jose was born in Loraine, Texas, to parents Damiana Vallesteros and Rosendo Mesa. He spent most of his life in Yakima, Washington.
Jose was a dear spouse to Monica Rae Bossert, whom he met in 1978. Together, they had three children: Rosendo Ramon Mesa, Suzanna Mesa-Polina, and Josephina Mesa. He was a loving and devoted husband to Maria Magdalena Mesa from 1993 to the present, with whom he shared two children: Jose Mesa Jr., and Linda Esperanza Mesa. Jose was also a wonderful grandfather to Ruben Polina Jr., Monica Rae Polina, Elena Emilia Martinez, Aria Grace Mesa, Roman Roberto Polina, Omar Salvador Martinez-Rodriguez Jr., and Santino Rodrigo Martinez.
A hard-working provider for his family, Jose was a dedicated foreman at Fencing and Awning. He was a great craftsman and always had the best-looking yard on the block. He loved his music, movies, working outside and enjoyed the holidays. He was a die-hard fan of America’s Team, the Dallas Cowboys.
He is survived by his wife, five children, seven grandchildren, eleven siblings, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He will be welcomed in heaven by Monica Rae Bossert, Damiana Vallesteros-Mesa, Rosendo Mesa, and Mary Lou Mesa.
Jose will be deeply missed by all who loved him and will remain forever in our hearts.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 22nd from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Keith & Keith Funeral Home, 902 W Yakima Ave, Yakima, WA 98902. A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, October 23rd at Keith & Keith Funeral home at 11:00 AM, burial to follow at Terrace Heights Memorial Park, A reception will follow the cemetery at Keith and Keith.
