Jean "Jeanne" Jackson 84, passed away Sunday August, 7th 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Jean was born April 16th, 1938 at Longview Memorial Hospital. She is home with the lord, no longer suffering.
Jean shared wonderful stories and great memories of growing up on a farm with her three cousins and her horse.
In her teenage years she moved to Ellensburg, Washington where she graduated from high school. She met her husband Norris and they started their new life in Yakima, Washington where she was a legal secretary until they started their family. After raising two children, Jean reentered the workforce as a medical transcriptionist at Memorial Hospital. She later married Arnold Jackson in 1994. They enjoyed a 5 week trip around Australia on their Goldwing, accompanied by other members of their motorcycle club. They enjoyed seeing everything from the beautiful coastal cities to the great Outback. When they retired, Arnie and Jean liked to winter in Quartzsite, Arizona as well as many other cross country trips.
Jean made it to every possible sporting event that her grandchildren participated in and loved to cook each of their favorite meals and desserts. During the Christmas holidays there was hardly enough room on her mantle to hang everyones' stockings, which she also made herself.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents William and Mae Abramson and husband Arnold Ray Jackson. She is survived by her children David (Deanne) Ege of Raymond; Washington; Robin (Shan) Sedgwick of Yakima; Washington, Debbie (Kyle) Volkmann of Spokane, Washington; Arnie Jr (Corinna) Jackson of North Carolina; Kenny (Sandy) Heman of Seaside, Oregon; Kristin (Tim) Robertson of Newport, California. She is survived also by her many grandchildren Drew Ege, Katrina Ege, David Sedgwick, Tucker Sedgwick, Nathan Sedgwick, Aaryn Hieb, Kassica Shulkin, Wyatt Wolkmann, Mykael Jackson, Matisse and Max Robertson.
There will be a viewing at Langevin Funeral Home in Yakima on Tuesday the 16th of August from 5:00 pm- 8:00pm.
There will be a graveside service Wednesday, August 17th at 10:00 am at Terrace Heights Memorial Cemetery.
