Ewald was born in Yakima, WA December 4th, 1928 and spent his entire life on the family farm in Selah as an orchardist. Ewald was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean war, achieving the rank of Sergeant 1st Class and felt very honored to have served his country. He was an avid drag car racer, winning many trophies, and excelled in mechanics, auto body customizing and painting. As a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Ewald and his sister Dorothy took great pride in decorating the church and Christmas tree for many years. He was also an organist for the church.
Ewald was preceded in death by his father George, mother Ida, and sister Dorothy. He is survived by numerous cousins.
Graveside services are to be held Jan 4th at 1:00, at Tahoma Cemetery in Yakima. For those wishing to make contributions to his memorial may do so with Grace Lutheran Church in Yakima.
