Eva was known for her big heart and for helping others.
Eva was born to Joseph and Mildred Wright in Clarkston, WA. When she was 17, she went to the mission field in Alaska for two years. She graduated from San Jose Bible College in 1953. She met and married Ed Liggett in December 1951. After Bible College, they went into the ministry in Wyoming. They ministered in church their entire careers concluding with the Christian church in Thorp, WA.
She was first a minister’s wife, also a waitress, a dietitian for a nursing home, sold Fuller Brush door to door, a kindergarten teacher, and was a manager for several restaurants.
She volunteered for the hospice program as an in-home caregiver, during which she took three ladies into her own home during their final days so they would not be alone when they passed away. She also worked as a senior companion for four years.
At the young age of 78, she went to college to get her C.N.A. She was blessed to have been married to Ed for 56 years. Then she re-met an old friend, Bill Mills, married, and had almost nine happy years with him.
She is survived by three sons, Dave, Dan, and Tom; two daughters, Linda and Ruth; five step children, Evelyn, Bill, Charlie, Wendy, and Amanda; 17 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren (and counting).
A celebration for this truly amazing woman will be held on Saturday, January 6th at 2 pm at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home at 1010 W. Yakima Avenue. Reception immediately following at Open Heart Baptist Church, 2040 McGonagle Rd., Selah. To share a memory of Eva visit www.lepfuneralhome.com.
