She met and married Byron Linse in 1954 not long after he returned from serving in the Korean Conflict, with the U.S. Air Force. They remained together until Byron passed in 2004.
Ethel packed apples from the time she was 16 years old to just shy of her 80th birthday. While working she made many lifetime friends and often found ways to have fun at work enjoying holidays, eat-ins and Halloween in particular.
Her number one passion was her family and she loved to cook awesome meals for her family and friends. While she was very proud of her home and enjoyed it immensely, she was always ready to hit the road with family. She attended all the events that her grandchildren were involved in and never missed a sporting event. No matter what the weather Grandma was in the backseat. Ethel enjoyed her sisters very much and often traveled with them to destinations around the state. One of her fondest memories was an Alaskan cruise with her sisters.
Ethel loved to sew and could put together almost anything with a needle and thread. She sewed many beautiful outfits for her daughter Kathleen and even made her wedding dress.
It was almost fitting that Ethel passed on the 12th, as she was an avid Seahawks supporter and part of the 12th man team.
Ethel was proceeded in death by her parents Adam and June Lust and her husband Byron Linse. She is survived by her children Kathleen (Dan) Garcia and Bryan (Jerri) Linse; her grandchildren Adam (Krystal) Garcia, Katrina (Butch) Boswell, Daniel (Kyla) Garcia, Kellen Linse and Garrett Linse; her great grandchildren Micah Garcia, Brooks Boswell, Ella Boswell, August Boswell, Ty Lamb, Braxyn Garcia and Koah Garcia; her sisters Phyllis (Don) Fountain, Vivian Purdom, Nola Lust and Connie Lust; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wants to express their gratitude to all those who helped Ethel along the way. They include Highland Fire District firefighters, The staffs of Memorial Hospital, North Star Lodge, Living Care and the Cottage in The Meadow. A special thanks to her friend Zora Smith, the Parsley Family and caregiver Angelina, who truly was an angel to her.
There will be a visitation at Keith and Keith Funeral home on Friday Sept. 21 from 4 PM to 8 PM. The Graveside Service will take place at West Hills Memorial Park, Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 2:30 PM.
Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to the Cottage in The Meadow in Ethel’s name if desired.
