Doris graduated from Etowah High School in 1945. She married OJ “Bud” Becker in the living room at the home of Bud’s parent’s, (Lillian and Olivie Becker), on Sept 23, 1950. Doris attended Yakima Valley Business School and worked for the Washington Department of Transportation, retiring in November, 1989.
She was very involved in her community and church. She was a member of the Silver Knights Motorcycle Club and the American Motorcycle Association, she volunteered at the Harmon Senior Center, was a Retired Public Service Delegate and member of the West Valley Missionary Church where she was Sergeant-at-arms for the Sunday school class. She enjoyed candy-making, poetry, gardening and jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed traveling having gone on mystery trips, a trip to the Great Smokey Mountains and trips through the Living Care Retirement Community.

Doris is survived by her daughters Linda Becker of San Diego, CA, Merry (Bill) Sturm of Yakima and Sharon (Alan) Kinder of Grandview, MO; daughter-in-law, Jackie Becker; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents as well as her son John Becker.
A graveside service is scheduled for 2 P.M. Friday, July 1, 2011 at West Hills Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, July 2, at the West Valley Missionary Church, 11107 Wide Hollow Road, Yakima, WA. The family requests memorial donations be made to West Valley Missionary Church in care of Keith and Keith Funeral Home who is entrusted with the arrangements.
