David Wayne Bernier Sr.

David graduated from Selah High School where he met the love of his life Una Madrid Wood. They married on August 6, 1955 in Yakima. They also made the front page newspaper for the biggest wedding reception to be held at the Chinook Tower Hotel. During his working years, he worked as a heavy duty diesel mechanic for the Alaskan Pipeline.

He loved woodworking, clam digging, family barbeques and camping trips to the beach. He blessed us with his love, support and a strong work ethic.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Una; six children Pamela Jo Newton, David W. Bernier Jr., Brenda Lee (Scott Wade) Bernier, Cindy (Keith) Sargent, Gregory James (Cathi) Bernier and Bradley Troy (Shauna) Bernier; sister Darlene (Dennis) Shafer; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Maurice and Inez.

A family memorial barbeque to honor his life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in David’s memory can be sent to a charity of choice.
