Daniel James Perez Sr, AKA “Bird” - a master fisherman, master roofer, loving family man, and loyal friend to many- passed peacefully in his home on Saturday, January 18, 2020, at the age of 61. Daniel was a proud member of the United Union of Roofers; he dedicated his life to working hard for his family, and took immense pride in his unmatched work-ethic.
Daniel was born in Yakima, WA, on November 24, 1958. He attended Yakima School Districts, and spent his life working in the Yakima Valley. In his spare time, he could be found on or near the water with his constant companion Shiloh- his dog and best friend.
Daniel loved the ocean, being outdoors and spending time surrounded by family and friends. He loved to joke and was rarely without a smile on his face. His laughter was uproarious, infectious and contagious. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother. He will be missed by many. His memories will live on through his children, grandchildren and all who loved him.
Daniel lived life to the fullest, always. He spent the duration of his retirement hooking Steelhead or Salmon. On a sunny day he could be found with his radio blaring, ‘dressed to the nines’ with a smoke in hand.
