MERCER ISLAND - Carolyn Louise Goode Johnson passed away on October 5, 2012 at Covenant Shores, a retirement community on Mercer Island. She was born in Yakima on January 18, 1914 and lived there until her move to Mercer Island in 2004 to be near her family.
She married Harry Johnson in 1941. He preceded her in death in 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Selma Goode, brother Paul Goode,and an infant son, Harry Timothy.
She retired after long service as a legal secretary in Yakima County where she worked for the Prosecuting Attorney's Office and the Superior Court Judges. Carolyn was a talented musician and was the organist at Selah Covenant Church for 60 years. Gifted with her hands, she enjoyed gardening, knitting,and sewing. Visitors were always welcome in her home and she was a gracious hostess. Being with her family gave her the greatest joy. Her faith was important in everything she did.
She is survived by her children Linda Morris (Tom), Darryl Johnson (Cinda Madonna), and Timothy Johnson (Kari Lindholm-Johnson); grandchildren Maggie Keller (Brian), Peter Morris, Carl Johnson, Katherine Johnson, Gabriel Johnson, and Chloe Johnson; great grandson Benjamin Keller; sister Helen Fredrickson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Keith and Keith Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 12, 2012 at Terrace Heights Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m. A Memorial Service will be held at Covenant Shores on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. Peace to her memory.
