Carol Lena Olson

She was born in Bremen, Wells County, North Dakota to Roy S. and A. Katherine Pierson. She graduated from Warwick Public School in 1936 and completed her business degree in Ontario, CA in 1940. She moved to WA state in 1943 where she married Carl E. Olson on March 24, 1946. They moved and lived in Yakima until moving to Wapato in 1951. She worked as a bookkeeper from 1960 to 1980 at a fruit packing company in Wapato. In 2003, 8 years following the death her husband, she moved to Yakima.

Her hobbies included knitting, needlepoint, sewing, quilting, reading and flower gardening. She knit numerous articles of clothing for the Warm Up Project of R.S.V.P. for 25 years. She belonged to the quilting club at Harmon Senior Center for many years.

Carol is survived by her 5 children; Sandra Olson of Centralia WA, Lynn Olson of Centralia, WA, Ellena and husband Gene Hazen of Yakima WA, Sherrie Olson of Mt Vernon, WA, Allen Olson of Yakima, WA; her 5 grandchildren, Larena and husband John Mills of Yakima, WA, Gary Paul and wife Ginger Mellick of Yakima, WA, Guy and wife Kate Mellick of Billings, MT, Colin Reed of Seattle, WA, Ian Reed of Bellingham, WA: her 5 great-grandchildren, Maggie, Jesse, Lizzie Mills and Makenzie and Shannah Mellick all of Yakima, WA. She was preceded in death by her husband, her sister and brother.
