Alvin Wayne Woolem, 68, was born September 20, 1945 in McAllen, Texas and passed away July 4, 2014 at home. He graduated from West Valley High School and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Coast Guard.
Alvin wore many different hats. He worked construction, roofing, as a truck driver, farmer and dumper operator for Eakin fruit, but his favorite was farming. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He loved doing the mountain man rendezvous at Nile Valley Days. He should have been born a hundred years earlier.
Alvin is survived by his loving companion Joanne Conduff; a son, Daniel Woolem and a daughter Mary Lee Woolem; granddaughters, Jamie Vela and Shelby Bush and a great-grandson, Anthony Vela.
The family wishes to thank the hospice staff for making it possible for Alvin to spend his last days at home. We also want to thank the Ehresman Family, Pattie, Mike, Jeff and Jake for taking Alvin camping, for rides and just being with him.
A Graveside Service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Tahoma Cemetery. To share a memory of Alvin, visit www.keithandkeith.com.
