Bennie was born December 29, 1975 in Morgantown, WV, son of the late Lyndia Smarr Fornash and the late Bennie Hinzman.
Bennie is survived by his wife, Jennifer and their 4 children Knox, Bryn, Dean and Indie, all at home, sisters Tonya (Jason) Fornash of West Jefferson, OH, Nicole Fornash of Hilliard, OH, brothers, BillyJoe Fornash of Jackson, OH, and Donnie Hinzman (Clarinda) of Weston, WV, in-laws Larry and Joyce English of Glen Dale, WV, sister-in-law Melissa Barbour (Kirby) of Cary, NC, brother-in-law Joe English of Raleigh, NC, nephews and nieces Trey (Mary) Milush, Zander Stephens, Sydney and Jesse Evans, Lenora and Sophia Fornash, Jack and Luke Barbour and his dearest friend, Ty Nestor (Samantha) of Elkins, WV.
Bennie was kind, charismatic, had a sharp wit, could make anyone laugh and was the spark of every celebration. He loved cars, skateboarding, skiing, had a huge soft spot for animals, never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need. He was truly one of a kind.
Bennie began his professional career at Potters Auto Group and has spent the last 20+ years working in various positions in the automotive industry almost exclusively with Germain Automotive Partnership, specializing in the sale of luxury vehicles. Bennie put his heart and soul into his work and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for a customer or a co-worker. A cause close to Bennie’s heart was riding in Pelotonia in memory of his mom, who passed before him from cancer. His kids loved cheering him on at this event and looked forward to watching their dad compete.
Bennie was a 1994 graduate of Forest Hills High School in Elkins, WV and a two-time graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications in 1999, and a Master’s Degree in Communications, with honors, in 2001. Bennie was a member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity while attending West Virginia University.
For all those who knew him, it was clear that Bennie loved his family more than anything and the pride he felt for his children was evident and abundant. Bennie was a great friend to so many and his loss will be felt far and wide. We know that he was greeted at the gates of heaven with open arms by his mom, dad and beloved dog, Jesse James.
