Shannon Lamont Smith

Shannon Lamont Smith, of Canton, GA, passed away on Monday, June 8th, 2020. He was born on August 28th, 1970 in East Meadow, New York, to Lester and Clydia “Clara” Smith. He grew up in Roosevelt, NY and graduated from Roosevelt H.S. in 1990.

Shannon met Alasia Gueringer in 1993 and they married on January 16, 2000. Together, they have 6 children: Alicia; Shaun; Andre’; Spenser; Shayne, and Allyn. Shannon also has two other daughters, Shanesha Smith, and LaShanda Smith, who have 5 and 2 children, respectively.

Shannon loved playing cards, fishing, hunting, boating, and riding his 4-wheeler. He was a talented DJ and enjoyed hip hop and R&B. Most of all, Shannon loved his family. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and adored his wife, Alasia.

He leaves to cherish in his memory, wife of 20 years, Alasia Smith; children, Alicia Smith, Shaun Smith, Andre Smith, Shayne Smith, Spenser Smith, Allyn Smith, LaShanda Smith, Shanesha Smith; siblings, Kathy and Patricia, Danette Montgomery, Arthur Ray Montgomery; 8 grandchildren, and a host of in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Shannon is preceded in death by his father, Lester Smith, his mother Clydia Smith, and his brothers, Reggie and Lester Jr.., affectionately known as A.J.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Shannon Smith will be held on Sunday, June 21st, 2020 at 12:00 PM in the chapel of Woodstock Funeral Home.
