Ray was an avid outdoorsman, loved to hunt and fish, and really enjoyed the sound of a hound trailing in the night. After 31 1/2 years at Ford Motor Assembly Plant, he retired to enjoying gardening and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He cheered on his beloved Atlanta Braves winning or losing. He was a member and one of the original Deacons at Rope Mill Baptist Church in Woodstock, Georgia; he loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Newton Weaver and Leila Aaron Weaver; and siblings, Walt Weaver, Pauline Weaver, Ruth Lowman, Toy Weaver, Pearl Head and Arahwanna Stover.
Ray is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Marie Weaver (nee Timms); children, Jeffery (Kim) Weaver of Canton, Georgia and Patti (Scott) Duncan of Canton, Georgia; grandchildren, Daniel (Lindsey) Duncan of Woodstock, Georgia, Samantha (John Calhoun) Oberley of Canton, Georgia, Keith Weaver of Adairsville, Georgia, Libby (Jesse) West of Canton, Georgia, Krissy (Will) Bubel of Canton, Georgia, Jacob Weaver of Canton, Georgia and Carson Weaver of Canton, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Taylor Wills, Jaylin Wills, Kenley Duncan, Madison Buchanan, Raelynn Oberley, Kayden West, Ella West and Hudson Bubel; siblings, Mandy Gramling, Ralph Weaver, Katie (David) Elliott and Margaret Mishark; and many nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, GA 30188. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022 at 12:30 PM in the Reece Memorial Chapel with Pastor Max Padgett and Pastor Roy Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park.
